Peter Malling joined Rockwool in 2008 to manage this group, and his first task was to assess the existing infrastructure. Rockwool Global in Denmark runs Ontolica on their central Sharepoint installation to streamline their document management processes; and the advantages provided by Ontolica made it a vital and cost-effective part of this infrastructure.
In addition to this, the fact that the software can easily scale to meet enterprise-scale requirements without enterprise-scale expenses makes Ontolica an important tool in Peter Malling’s Sharepoint kit. While Ontolica is currently used in a document-search role, future perspectives for Rockwool include using the software as an enterprise-wide contact manager, or deploying Ontolica 4.0 as a reporting and analytics tool across the entire portal.
